Leftfield deploy a more measured sound system these days than the one that once caused plaster to crumble from a venue ceiling, but you still feel its pulsing low-end in your very bones.
Left-field house producers tend to ignore at least one major chapter of the traditional deep-house production playbook, whether doing away with the 4/4 rhythmic structure, the need for hand percussion, or the emphasis on the beat. If the deviation in the production can’t be pinned down to a specific quality, there remains something certifiably askew.
