The PLATES: Message In The Music’ – an astonishingly great journey through soul, disco, boogie, funk, rock, prog and post punk, all reshaped by The Architects of the Good Groove
Not just layering house beats over disco classics, but deconstructing and reconstructing, Disco Police's superbly wide-ranging taste in music has delivered a project which is jam-packed with innovation and experimentation:
demonstrating that recycling older material can reap rich creative results.
The Disco Police is well known for their extensive editing career where they perfected the techniques needed to maximize the dance floor dynamics of a song whilst adhering to its original spirit.
Their version of disco house music is a rich, percussive concoction, taking in their musical traditions as well as their beloved Chicago house, and blending elements of funk soul, jazz and disco into rich rhythmic collages, all held down by adept production touches.

The Selection is moving from start to finish with his relentlessly body grooving mix of tracks; giving us a batch of dreamy funked-up disco - setting off on a slightly more discerning route to dancefloor ecstasy.
The Plates bring a chunky revision of a breezy, horn-heavy funky disco number that Disco Police brought bang up to date with the addition of dub delays, lolloping drums, and a thickset basslines.
Brilliantly blending disco & house with electrofunk era chunk of disco brilliance, along with a filter-sporting slab of mid-tempo disco-house chug rich jams packed in jangling guitar riffs and insanely heavy bass.
